Cobalt. The best old town ...

I was pleased to drive through Cobalt, Ontario this week. I was on the road up to Timmins and then over to Kirkland Lake, some of the best known gold-mining towns in the world.
I got off the main highway for a bit to visit Cobalt, known as one of the Ontario's most historic towns. Of course it was also home to the Cobalt silver rush in the early 1900s. So many amazing stories took place there.
If you ever get a chance, check out the book: We Lived a Life and Then Some, by Charlie Angus and Brit Griffin.
I was pleased to get photos of a couple of landmarks: The Miner's Home Tavern and the Cobalt Mining Museum.

So just to quote the opening verse of The Cobalt Song:
Let's sing a song of Cobalt,
If you don't liver there that's your fault...
