Back home in Sudbury after my annual trip to Toronto for the annual Prospector's convention. As in the past it was a good time, but it seems to have beaten me up a bit. I was fine during the convention itselt but when I got home, I was floored and feeling so sick.
Of course I was worried it was COVID-19 but I took a couple of Rapid Anitigen Tests and both were negative. Still I had that suspicion for the past few days. I had some chills and aches, but no fever or high temperature. I took some Advils and gradually got better.
So it's Sunday morning and I am just feeling normal... which is so much better. Whatever it was I am glad I am triple-vaxxed.
The convention didn't have as many delegates this year, but there was still about 20,000 people there from around the world. I always find it interesting to meet so many people who come to Canada to learn more about mining because Canada is still the world leader.
The other great part of the convention is the social aspect, going to parties and hospitality events. It is always fun to meet people you haven't seen in awhile. I was so pleased to see my niece Valerie Maltais, who now works for a mining company based out of Chicago. Val and I had not seen each other since the last live version of the convention held in 2020. It was so nice to get caught up with Val and her husband Denis.
